Wexford town water outage: Crews on site repairing main burst

Those who live or work in Wexford town may be experiencing a loss of water supply this morning due to a burst water main.

Our specialised repair crews are on site now at Whiterock Hill working to repair the burst and restore normal water supply to homes and businesses in the town and surrounding areas as quickly as possible.

Providing an update from site Padraig Lyng of Uisce Éireann said: 
“The team knows how disruptive an unexpected burst can be. Our main priority this morning is fixing this burst so the network around Whiterock Hill can refill, and water returns to all our customers. We really appreciate everyone in the community bearing with us while our crews get water back to homes and businesses.

“We expect it will take until approximately this afternoon to fix it. Then it can take two or three hours before the system refills and normal supply is returned to everyone.”

We understand that a water outage can be more than an inconvenience for customers who rely on a continuous water supply for medical reasons. Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
