Water supply returning to customers following completion of burst repair works in Lixnaw
Alternative water supplies in place
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann crews have repaired a burst water main in Lixnaw this morning, with supply now returning to customers. Repair crews were mobilised immediately after the burst occurred yesterday evening with all repair work completed early this morning. To support impacted customers, an alternative water supply in the form of a tanker will remain available at Lixnaw Community Centre. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Eoin O’Connell, Operations Manager said: "Our crews worked tirelessly to restore normal water supply. We understand the inconvenience caused by this unplanned outage and would like to thank customers for their patience and cooperation while repairs were completed.”
Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network as the network recharges.
