Uisce Éireann supporting Housing Infrastructure Investment Fund, announced by Minister Browne
Uisce Éireann welcomes Minister Browne’s announcement on housing activation, which includes the progression of 82 key projects aimed at accelerating the delivery of new homes across the country. Most of these projects will involve the installation of water and wastewater infrastructure alongside new roads and other critical utilities.
Access to timely, reliable water and wastewater infrastructure is essential to turning planning permissions into homes, and Uisce Éireann is committed to working closely with Government, local authorities and delivery partners to ensure infrastructure does not become a barrier to housing supply. Through early engagement, coordinated planning and targeted investment, Uisce Éireann continues to prioritise water and wastewater solutions that unlock housing at scale, particularly in towns and cities where demand is strongest. This infrastructure led approach supports the Government’s wider housing objectives and reflects the emphasis placed on removing critical bottlenecks to delivery.
For many of the projects announced today by the Minister under the Housing Infrastructure Investment Fund, Uisce Éireann have aligned our investment programmes, advanced design and delivery, and are sequencing works in a way that will speed up the delivery of critical infrastructure. Uisce Éireann remains focused on playing its part in enabling housing delivery nationwide and will continue to collaborate with stakeholders to help turn activated sites into completed homes for individuals and families.
