Storm Chandra update on water services across the country
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann is assessing the impacts of Storm Chandra on water and wastewater services. Initial reports from our operations team indicate there is minimal impact at this point on water supplies nationwide. A small number of localised issues have been reported in the East and South East which crews are working to resolve.
Margaret Attridge, Head of Water Operations with Uisce Éireann, said, “As the storm continues to move across the country, Uisce Éireann crews are on the ground monitoring and assessing the impact of the storm and will be working to restore supply as quickly as possible if issues arise.
“While heavy rainfall and surface water flooding have presented operational challenges in parts of the country, particularly the East and South-East, we have been able to maintain uninterrupted supply to most customers. Where localised issues have been reported we are working to address these as quickly as possible and minimise impact on customers. We will continue to assess the situation throughout the day and provide further updates as they arise.
Updates about local water supplies are available on the Uisce Éireann Supply and Service Updates page and on our social media channels. We can also be contacted via our 24/7 customer care centre at 1800 278 278.
