Investigations continue into reduced water pressure in Passage East

29 January 2026

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann is aware of ongoing low water pressure issues impacting customers in Passage East, and we understand the inconvenience this is causing for homes and businesses in the area.

Our teams have been on site investigating the cause of the reduced pressure, which appears to be linked to a blockage on the watermains serving the village. Crews are continuing works to clear the obstruction and restore normal supply as quickly and as safely as possible.

To support customers while investigations continue, an alternative water supply is available on Beresford Row in the village. When taking water from the tanker, customers are reminded to boil the water before use as a precaution, in line with HSE advice.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. To register as a vulnerable customer or alternative contact, visit our Vulnerable Customers page.

Uisce Éireann is committed to keeping customers informed across multiple platforms 24/7. We encourage customers to engage with us through our website, our X channels @IWCare and @IrishWater, and through our customer care helpline which is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278.

Updates are available on the Water Supply Updates section (WAT00105841).
