Full supply restored in Achill after successful pipe repairs

Water supply has been restored to normal levels in Achill this morning after the successful repair of a burst main which impacted supply to customers yesterday.
Uisce Éireann crews completed repairs to the burst pipe at approximately 10pm on Tuesday night. Reservoir levels were allowed to replenish overnight, and full supply had returned for affected customers by approximately 8am this morning.
Uisce Éireann customers in Sraheens, Derreens, Cloughmore, Currane, Polranny and surrounding areas were impacted by the outage, which was caused by a burst main yesterday afternoon.
Ronan McDonnell of Uisce Éireann thanked impacted customers for their understanding while crews worked to repair the burst and restore supply.
“We understand the inconvenience caused by an unplanned outage and we wish to thank impacted customers for their patience,” said Ronan.
“Thanks also to the crews who worked late into the evening, in very difficult weather conditions, to repair the burst and restore supply for customers.”

Uisce Éireann crews are responding to a burst water main in Achill which is causing supply disruptions for customers in the area.
Uisce Éireann customers in Sraheens, Derreens, Cloughmore, Currane, Polranny and surrounding areas may be experiencing intermittent outages or reduced supply this afternoon as a result of this burst.
Crews have been mobilised to site to isolate and repair the burst main. It is estimated that supply will be restored later this evening (Tuesday).
Ronan McDonnell of Uisce Éireann has assured impacted customers that all efforts are being made to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
“We acknowledge the impact of an unplanned outage for customers, and we wish to thank impacted customers for their understanding while our repairs are underway,” said Ronan.
“Works are ongoing and we hope to have supply restored for affected customers later this evening.”
