Customers in East Meath may experience low pressure overnight

Uisce Éireann is advising that customers in parts of East Meath may experience low pressure in their supply overnight due to a water treatment plant interruption which is causing low levels in local reservoirs.

Low pressure will be experienced in Ashbourne, Ratoath, Kilbride, Skryne and surrounding areas in Co Meath.

Crews are working to repair the fault and water is expected to be back to normal levels by tomorrow evening once reservoir levels start to build. 

Typically, it can take three to four hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all properties after an unplanned outage. Customers located at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience longer restoration times as the system recharges.

Enda Cully of Uisce Éireann said that supply levels should be restored to normal by tomorrow evening and thanked affected customers for their understanding.

“We acknowledge the impact of unplanned supply disruptions on our customers and we wish to thank impacted customers for their patience while the network recharges overnight and tomorrow," said Enda.
