Crews working to return water supply to customers in Cobh

Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore water supply to impacted customers following a burst to a water main in Cobh.  

The burst may be impacting water supply to homes and businesses in Lissanisky, Marian Terrace, Carrigaloe, Rushbrooke Links, Riverside Estate, Bunker Hill, Tay Road, Cobh and surrounding areas in Cork. 

Our expert water services crews are currently on the ground carrying out the necessary repairs and expect to complete works by 5pm this afternoon, 05 February.  

Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the network recharges.  

Michael Bell, Network Operations Manager for Uisce Éireann has said: “We understand the inconvenience that unplanned outages can have and would like to assure customers that we are doing everything we can to restore the water supply as quickly as possible.”
