Supply returning to customers in Kilcommon
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Supply is returning to Uisce Éireann customers in Kilcommon following the repair of a major burst water main leaving Kilcommon Reservoir.
While the burst has been repaired, customers in Kilcommon, Reiska, Knockfune, Rearcross, Whitewalls and the surrounding areas of Co. Tipperary may continue to experience reduced water pressure or interruptions to supply as the network refills.
Uisce Éireann crews are also carrying out repairs to a number of leaks on the network, which may result in reduced water pressure for some customers while works are underway.
Full supply is expected to be restored by 5pm this evening.
Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore full water supply as quickly as possible.
“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned interruption and we thank customers for their support.”
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. To register as a vulnerable customer or as an alternative contact, visit our Vulnerable Customers page.
