Uisce Éireann crews are responding to a burst on a water main at Sandy Road to the east of Galway City this morning.
The burst occurred overnight and is currently causing supply disruption for Uisce Éireann customers in the area.
Customers in Gleann na Trá, Gort na Glaise, Cúirt Seoighe, Coole Park and surrounding areas may be experiencing intermittent outages or other supply disruptions this morning as a consequence of this burst.
Crews are currently mobilising to the site of the burst in order to begin their repairs. It is estimated that repairs will be complete by 4pm this afternoon (Wednesday).
Tony Kelly of Uisce Éireann said crews will work as quickly as possible to isolate and repair the burst and restore normal supply.
“We acknowledge the frustration that can be caused for our customers by an unplanned outage such as this,” said Tony.
“Our crews are responding to the burst and will work to restore normal supply as soon as possible. We wish to thank affected customers for their understanding while repairs are underway.”
