Alternative water supplies in place
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Uisce Éireann crews have repaired a major burst water main with supply slowly returning to customers. The unplanned outage which occurred yesterday evening resulted in customers in Youghal and surrounding areas experiencing a disruption to their water supply. Crews worked late last night and into the early hours of this morning to complete the repairs as quickly as possible. However, it did prove difficult due its location.
In order to maintain recovery, restrictions are necessary in Cork Hill and Sweetfield areas. Customers may experience pressure loss today and up until 7am tomorrow morning.
To support impacted customers, alternative water supplies, in the form of water tankers are now available at the following locations:
- Jysk Car Park in Youghal
- Youghal Ruby Club
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Niall O’Riordan, Operations Manager said: “We understand the inconvenience that unplanned outages and we wish to thank the community for their patience and understanding while the works were underway last night and today.”
