Cashel network continues to refill
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Our customers in Cashel may be experiencing a disruption to their supply or low pressure this afternoon.
Our crews have been working around the clock to restore normal water services and refill the network as quickly as possible following an interruption to supply at Springmount Water Treatment Plant yesterday. While significant progress has been made, it can take time for water to return fully to all areas, particularly properties on higher ground or on the edge of the network.
Customers in Farranamanagh, Castlelake, Mantlehill, Cashel as well as those in Deerpark, Spafield Road, Woodlawn, Caiseal na Ri, and the surrounding areas may be experiencing an interruption to supply as a result.
Alternative water supplies are in place at
• Cashel Rugby Club
• Oliver Plunket
• The Fire Station
• Cashel National School
• Woodlawn.
Customers are reminded to bring their own containers when collecting water from tankers and, as a precautionary measure, to boil water before consumption.
To help maintain treated water reservoir levels and protect daytime supplies for customers across Cashel, overnight water restrictions will continue from 8pm to 8am until further notice
Providing an update from site, Pierce Faherty said:
“Everyone on site understands the impact a prolonged water disruption or reduced pressure has on homes, families and local businesses. Our crews have been working tirelessly since yesterday and our priority remains getting water back to every customer as quickly as possible.
“We are making steady progress, but it can take time for water to fully return across the entire network. At present, we expect it could be tomorrow morning before supplies are fully restored to all customers, particularly those in higher-lying areas.
"We want to sincerely thank the people of Cashel for their patience and understanding while our teams continue this important work.”

“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while our works continue.”
Our crews are continuing repair works and we expect to have them completed later this evening. Water supply will start to return once the repairs are finished, but it may take until early tomorrow morning for supply to be fully restored to all customers as treated water reservoirs gradually refill overnight. We know this disruption is frustrating and we thank customers for their patience while we work to restore normal supply.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
