Major boost for Keadue’s water supply as network upgrade completed

There is good news for homes and businesses in Keadue as Uisce Éireann has completed a significant water network upgrade, delivering a stronger, more reliable supply for the local community.

Almost 900 metres of ageing water mains have now been replaced in Derreenargan, Keadue, along the R284, as part of Uisce Éireann’s National Leakage Reduction Programme. The completed works will significantly reduce leakage, helping to protect precious treated water from being lost underground, and improve resilience for customers in the area.

The project also included the installation of new water service connections to properties, ensuring customers can benefit from a more secure supply.

Uisce Éireann Programme Manager Enda Mac Namara said the completion of the works is a positive milestone for the community.

“We are delighted to have delivered this significant upgrade for the people of Keadue. By replacing old pipes and reducing leakage, we have strengthened the local water supply and delivered long term benefits for the area. I would like to sincerely thank the community in Derreenargan for their cooperation and support while these works were carried out. With the works now complete, customers can enjoy the benefits of a more reliable and resilient water supply for years to come.”

The works were carried out by Farrans Construction on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
