Network improvement works completed successfully as water supply returns to customers in Tubbercurry

Essential network improvement works in Tubbercurry have been successfully completed and water supply is returning to Uisce Éireann customers affected by the overnight outage in the area.

The works, which took place overnight, involved the removal of existing pipework from private land and its diversion into the public road network as part of site development works along Circular Road in Tubbercurry.

The works will help secure the infrastructure, ensuring safer access for future maintenance and repairs.

Water supply is returning to customers in Kilmactigue, Aclare, Cloonacool, Annagh, Banada, Curry, Bellaghy, Moulough, Carrowreagh, Tubbercurry town and surrounding areas, with supply turned back on in time for schools, businesses and essential services re-opening for normal day to day activities.

Uisce Éireann's Kevin Love said: "We are delighted to have completed these essential works successfully and to have water supply returning to customers. I'd like to sincerely thank our crews who worked throughout the night to deliver these works safely and efficiently, helping to minimise disruption for customers. We also want to thank the local community for their patience and cooperation while these important works were carried out."

Uisce Éireann advises that it can take several hours for normal water supply to fully return to all customers as reservoirs recharge and the network returns to normal operation.

Uisce Éireann is advising customers in Tubbercurry and surrounding areas of an overnight water supply interruption tonight to facilitate essential works on the water network.

The interruption is required to allow for site development works along Circular Road in Tubbercurry. As part of these works, Uisce Éireann will remove existing pipework from private land and divert it into the public road network, securing the infrastructure and ensuring safe access for future maintenance and repairs.

Works are scheduled to commence tonight (Tuesday) at 8pm. Customers in Kilmactigue, Aclare, Cloonacool, Annagh, Banada, Curry, Bellaghy, Moulough, Carrowreagh, Tubbercurry town and surrounding areas may experience disruptions to their water overnight. Supply is expected to be restored from Wednesday morning, with normal water services returning to all affected customers by midday on Wednesday, 16 September.

Uisce Éireann's Kevin Love said: "These essential works will help secure the local water network for the future by relocating vital pipework to a more accessible location. This will allow for safer and more efficient maintenance and repairs when required. We understand that interruptions to water supply can be inconvenient and would like to thank customers for their patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out."

We understand that a water outage can be more than an inconvenience for customers who rely on a continuous water supply for medical reasons. Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
